Aston Martin Boss Asserts Christian Horner Has Been Calling 'Every F1 Team Principal' in Formula One Regarding a Position

The former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is reportedly undertaking a concerted effort to secure a position to Formula One, with the Aston Martin team principal, Andy Cowell, claiming that Horner was recently in contact with “nearly every team owner”.

Exit Agreement Permit Quick Comeback

Horner was dismissed by Red Bull in July and his departure from the team enables him to come back in the early part of next year. Aston Martin are considered a likely home for Horner, who secured 14 titles with Red Bull during his 20 years in charge, but Cowell, who also serves as CEO of the team, insisted they were not pursuing him.

“It looks as though Christian has been phoning nearly every team owner at the moment,” he said at the Singapore GP. “I can definitely state there are no arrangements for the engagement of Christian in an operational or financial role in the future.”

Eager Comeback After Rocky Departure

Horner reportedly is keen to come back to the sport. His time at Red Bull ended after a year and a half of upheaval that had commenced when he was was alleged to have engaged in “unacceptable actions” by a staff member. Charges which he disputed and for which he was cleared two times by an independent investigation.

Haas F1 Likewise Approached

Ahead of the Grand Prix in Singapore got underway, the Haas boss, Ayao Komatsu, confirmed Horner reached out with his team. “It is accurate that he contacted us,” he said. “One of our guys had an preliminary chat and nothing more. Nothing has gone any further. It is over.”

Singapore GP Sessions Feature Mixed Results

In practice at the Marina Bay track, Fernando Alonso led the leaderboard in the initial practice, but in the truer-to-life evening second free practice, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri was the pace-setter.

His title rival Lando Norris, however, struggled to no avail under the floodlights. He lost time after suffering nose damage when Charles Leclerc was released into the McLaren in the pits, and could manage only fifth, almost a half a second down on Piastri, leaving the UK racer annoyed at his performance. “The car is not half-a-second off, my driving is,” he told race engineer Will Joseph.
