Christantus Uche Ignites Comfortable Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

Even though entering their maiden continental adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Missing key figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding win that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

A further three points in their upcoming fixture against Finnish KuPS should be enough to secure direct passage to the last 16, especially after a prior stumble against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Grasp the Moment

This occasion provided a platform for several Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after joining on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second consecutive match.

The Shelbourne team that had concluded their league season proved no match against a largely rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were further depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

The match was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his very first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise positive evening for the traveling side.
