The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of characters who will branch out from the main group to begin their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his own means, entering the secret base, striking Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then settled his debts and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and warns that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their status as important members in House Halovar could assist the party enter areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to head to the northern region in search of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Explorers and Strategists parties.
